Education at the Heart of the Heartland

Education shapes the heart of Norman as the University of Oklahoma resides in the city’s center. Norman Public Schools District has been nationally recognized for academic success. In 2012, both US News and World Report and Newsweek magazine acknowledged Norman’s high schools as two of the best in the country based upon graduation rates and college readiness including nationally ranked ACT and SAT scores. In addition to preparing students for a collegiate education, NPS District offers high school students the opportunity to attend career-focused programs at Moore-Norman Technology Center simultaneously with high school enrollment. The Norman community continues to expand its educational horizons as fall of 2012 welcomed a partial French immersion program at Ronald Reagan Elementary School. Community members also experience educational events outside of the classroom at the Norman Public Library
